Too many parents can't get the support they need.
We’re calling on the government to provide parenting support to all parents ─ from pregnancy until their children start school.
Services such as baby and toddler groups, parenting programmes, and parenting advice are essential - they support child development, improve parent and child wellbeing, and help identify challenges facing families early.
However, too many parents can't get this help - 42% of parents struggled or failed to access essential parenting support services.
Our research shows in areas with limited access to early years support, disadvantaged children are more likely to fall behind with being ready for school. This can have lasting damage on their education.
With the government currently planning its roll out of family hubs, we have the chance to make sure this support is available to all families.
